He was most recently the Chief Executive Officer at Conifer Health Solutions and previously held executive management roles at Oracle Corporation, Rackspace, EarthLink, Hewlett-Packard, and Electronic Data Systems. He currently serves on the board of Discover Financial Services (NYSE: DFS). LYNNE BORTHWICK Chief People Officer Lynne is uniquely qualified at the intersection of human resources and business strategy. She has extensive experience in technology, services and transformation, previously serving in HR and business leadership roles at Wiley, Unisys and Accenture. With a strong foundation in customer-facing HR consulting, she brings a global, employee-centric perspective to ERT to improve employee experience, engagement, and productivity. Lynne firmly believes a positive employee experience translates to exceptional customer experience. As Chief People Officer, Lynne applies her expertise in organization transformation to drive innovation and collaboration and build an inclusive, dynamic culture with top talent. ANDREW COOPER Chief Commercial Officer As Chief Commercial Officer, Andrew Cooper is responsible for the performance, strategy, and direction of ERT’s commercial organization. Andrew and his team are dedicated to working collaboratively with customers to engage ERT’s suite of eClinical solutions for the collection, management, and analysis of critical source and end-point data required for drug approval. Andrew has over 20 years of experience with eClinical and Pharmacovigilance technologies used to enable the drug development and post-approval processes and has held senior leadership positions at Oracle and Medidata. ADAM DEUTSCH General Counsel and Chief Integration and Transformation Officer Adam has a unique breadth of global healthcare company experience transforming and leading functions and businesses to serve customers, patients and employees, while managing risk and enabling innovation and growth. He most recently led ConvaTec’s successful “Pivot to Growth” transformation, while also leading the Critical Care business and serving as General Counsel. Adam has extensive M&A experience, including leadership roles on private equity exits at ConvaTec and Biomet. As General Counsel and Chief Integration and Transformation Officer, Adam will drive strategic transformation initiatives, enable the joining of ERT and Bioclinica, and lead the legal, privacy, contracts and corporate development teams. JAY FERRO Chief Information and Technology Officer Jay is globally recognized and awarded for his technology, leadership, and business transformation accomplishments. As Global Chief Information Officer, he leads ERT’s development, information technology, and strategic sourcing initiatives with an unwavering commitment to excellence. A transformative technology leader, Jay has significant experience achieving exceptional operational results for diverse global corporations and has extensive knowledge driving technology upgrades that are critical to managing data protection – especially in clinical trials. His expertise in improving and implementing data policies ensures complete privacy and safety of ERT’s customers and patients. ANDREW JARDINE Chief Customer and Operating Officer Andrew brings to ERT extensive experience in creating successful business outcomes for clients. He has deep knowledge and expertise in client delivery, operations and transformation, with 15 years of experience delivering world class levels of client satisfaction. With a background in delivering large-scale technology and service base solutions, he has managed clients of all sizes across North and South Americas, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, each with different expectations, cultures, and ways of doing business. Andrew strongly believes in ERT’s values and their direct effect on positive customer outcomes. Thus, he leads with the idea that if we create an environment where people have the opportunity to volunteer their best every day, customer satisfaction will follow. JIM MAHON Chief Product Officer Jim has more than 25 years of general management, corporate development, strategy and marketing experience with Symphony Health, Arsenal Capital and IMS health (now IQVIA). In his role as Chief Product Officer, Jim is responsible for ensuring ERT’s product offerings align with the ever-evolving needs of the market, leveraging the most enabling innovations available for our customers. Jim also drives integration across our product suite, and leads the roadmap development and product management improvement efforts across our portfolio. MATTHEW McCARTY Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer Matt McCarty, Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer, leads the articulation of ERT’s strategic direction, corporate development, and marketing activities. He has spent the last 15 years innovating technology solutions for clinical research and commercial healthcare where much of his focus has been to improve access to and reduce the burden of participation in clinical trials. Most recently, Matt was Global Head of Patient Engagement for ICON’s Commercialization & Outcomes division and, prior to that, Head of Direct-to-Patient Research (Virtual Trials) at IQVIA. TOM VADAKETH Chief Financial Officer As Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of ERT, Tom is responsible for driving the company’s financial vision, guidance and compliance. Prior to joining ERT, Tom was the CFO at Cambrex Corporation. He has over 20 years of experience in senior financial leadership roles at top worldwide organizations, including a variety of progressive management positions at The Crosby Group, Tyco and Procter & Gamble. ERT Executive Management Team ELISA CASCADE Executive Vice President, eCOA As Executive Vice President and Product Line Executive for eCOA at ERT, Elisa is responsible for business/market planning, advancing the Product portfolio, and maintaining business relationships in the eCOA space. She has over 25 years of experience in strategy consulting, clinical research, market research, brand strategy, salesforce deployment, health economics, and pricing. Prior to joining ERT, Elisa was a Chief Product Officer at IQVIA Technologies, where she was responsible for the development and maintenance of site-facing technology and served as the Lead for the industry collaborations: the Investigator Databank and TransCelerate Investigator Registry. OTIS JOHNSON, PhD, MPA Vice President, Trial Oversight Solutions and Chief Diversity Officer In his role as Chief Diversity Officer, Otis creates and implements programs to deliver on ERT’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. As Vice President & Product Line Executive of ERT’s Trial Oversight Solutions, Otis is responsible for expanding the company’s reporting and analytics strategy. He has over 20 years of progressively expanded pharmaceutical experience, and is passionate about the industry with expertise across clinical informatics, business analytics, sales, project management, and R&D. His experience ranges from running clinical trials at Merck to leading sales support and clinical informatics functions at ICON and Syneos Health. He recently led the commercialization of a self-service, AI-enabled clinical study site selection tool at Phesi. TIM KULBAGO Vice President, Imaging and Head of Integrated Customer Solutions In addition to being responsible for driving innovation and product development to ensure the company’s imaging solutions meet our customers’ needs, Tim leads the charge to integrate all ERT offerings for a seamless customer experience. Tim has held many executive positions during his 20 years in the medical imaging industry. He previously served as President and CEO of ImageIQ – a company originally established by Cleveland Clinic Innovations (acquired by ERT in 2017) – where he led the company’s deployment of software engineering, high-resolution imaging, and custom-tailored image analysis to support a vast array of biomedical preclinical and clinical specialties. GINO PIRRI Senior Vice President, Technology Development As Senior Vice President of Technology Development, Gino ensures customer satisfaction by consistently delivering superior customer experience through operational excellence. Gino leads ERT’s technology road map and integrated platform modernization programs using knowledge and expertise gained while developing modernized technology platforms for large cloud-based platforms at SaaS-based technology companies. With a solid track record executing the right technologies, engineering teams, and agile processes, Gino ensures ERT delivers platforms and solutions that serve the needs of our customers. ACHIM SCHÜLKE Executive Vice President, Respiratory Solutions Achim has more than 30 years of experience and expertise in medical device, remote monitoring, disease management and clinical trial markets. Previously, he played key roles at medical technology leaders such as JAEGER, VIASYS and CareFusion with a proven record of accomplishment for success in driving growth and profitability. Achim founded VIASYS Clinical Services, growing the organization from 0 to 250 people while developing innovative technologies to capture and process clinical trial data. ELLEN STREET Executive Vice President, Cardiac Safety and Quality and Regulatory Affairs Ellen leads ERT’s Cardiac Safety business, setting product strategy and driving growth opportunities, as well as ERT’s Quality and Regulatory organization. She has more than 25 years’ experience in multiple segments of the life sciences marketplace, including healthcare IT, medical devices, and imaging. Ellen has expertise in product management, R&D, quality and regulatory, commercial leadership, and strategic marketing. Prior to joining ERT, Ellen was VP and General Manager, Global Monitoring Solutions Ecosystem and Analytics at GE Healthcare, where she led the company’s patient monitoring data and analytics strategy within its Life Care solutions business. Bioclinica Executive Management Team BRADLEY DEAN Senior Vice President, Head of Client Services and Delivery Bradley Dean is Senior Vice President and Head of Client Services and Delivery at Bioclinica. Leveraging more than 18 years of technical and management experience, Bradley leads the global services, project management, operations and clinical data management teams responsible for the planning, oversight, and service delivery for all medical imaging studies across the Bioclinica therapeutic areas. Under his leadership, he heads up a specialized collaboration committed to the company’s largest enterprise sponsors. Through mentorship and innovation, Bradley and his team excel at safeguarding the quality of service, compliance and data quality, and process improvement and standardization at Bioclinica. During his two-decade tenure, Bradley held positions of increasing responsibility in project and program management, pricing and proposals, mergers and acquisitions, and enterprise sponsors and portfolio management. Prior to joining Bioclinica, he served as Program Director at WorldCare Clinical and as Project Manager and Operations Lead at Parexel. Bradley earned his bachelor’s degree in environmental population organismic biology from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a master’s degree in business administration from Boston University. After his undergraduate studies, he served in the United States Peace Corps for two years in Africa where he taught more than 500 students practical and theoretical components of biology. ERIC FORSTHOFFER Senior Vice President, Global Business Development Eric Forsthoffer is Senior Vice President of Global Business Development at Bioclinica. As a key member of the senior executive team, he oversees the management, service harmonization, and success of Global Business Development and Marketing for Medical Imaging and Cardiac Safety. Leveraging a deep understanding and knowledge of clients’ needs for their clinical trials, Eric works closely to improve business performance, satisfaction, and efficiencies while growing Bioclinica’s strong presence and leadership in the market. Eric began his 18-year tenure at Bioclinica as a temp and then held positions of increasing responsibility in site administration, project management, and business development, supporting all therapeutic areas at Bioclinica. He has contributed to the development of the gastrointestinal (GI) program by leading activities on prototype development and deployment on the first GI study for video capture, with more than 60 studies currently. In his past roles, Eric served as a Randomization and Trial Supply Management (RTSM) Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, and Account Manager at Signant Health (formerly United BioSource Corporation) before returning to Bioclinica to serve in key leadership positions in 2011. He was also a contributing author for Medical Imaging in Clinical Trials, which focused on best practices for evaluating imaging core labs that were consistent with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and regulatory compliance. Eric earned his associate degree in business and commerce from Arizona State University. DAN GEBOW, PhD Chief Innovation Officer Dan Gebow, PhD, is Chief Innovation Officer at Bioclinica. He leads digital transformation initiatives to drive technological change across the medical imaging business and accelerates the investment and productization of new tools for critical insights. He brings more than 18 years of experience in clinical research informatics and 28 years in biomedical research to this role. Dr. Gebow joined Bioclinica in 2017 following the acquisition of his software company MDDX Research and Informatics, now known as the backbone of SMART Submit. He previously served as Senior Vice President of Research and Development and Vice President of Innovation at Bioclinica. During his career, Dr. Gebow has brought over ten digital health tools from ideation to commercialization. In addition to numerous patent filings, he has authored several scientific publications, covering a range of topics including medical imaging and cancer genetics. He earned his Doctorate from Harvard University, with course work completed at Harvard Medical School, Harvard School of Public Health, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). MICHAEL O’NEAL, MD Chief Medical Officer Michael O’Neal, MD, is Chief Medical Officer at Bioclinica. As a key member of the senior executive team, Dr. O’Neal is responsible for overseeing all medical affairs efforts within the organization, providing strategic leadership to clinical teams while collaborating with sponsors in all aspects of medical imaging protocol development. Drawing on extensive clinical experience in internal medicine and diagnostic radiology, he oversees physician training, service quality, and process improvements while advising on medical operations, regulatory compliance, and the investment of new technologies across medical imaging. During his 17 years with Bioclinica, Dr. O’Neal has developed and championed improved standards that enable research sites to produce comparable study data across the globe and has provided oversight of imaging data for more than 75 regulatory approvals. Throughout his tenure, he has played a central role in protocol review, charter development, a reader on multiple trials, and independent oversight of over 400 clinical trials to date. He is a member of professional organizations including the Radiological Society of North America, the American College of Radiology, the American Medical Association, the Drug Information Association, the American Society for Clinical Oncology, and the American Society of Hematology. In 2019, he was recognized by PharmaVOICE magazine as one of the “100 Most Inspiring People in the Life-Sciences Industry”. Prior to his role at Bioclinica, Dr. O’Neal served as Chairman for the Department of Radiology at the Hospital Center at Orange and the head of Central Medical Imaging MRI center. Dr. O’Neal holds certification in Diagnostic Radiology from the American College of Radiology, in addition to fellowship training in Body Imaging. He is the author of several papers, a speaker at many industry meetings, and was a contributor to the iRECIST Committee prior to publication.
